Halloween

Halloween was a lot of fun this year! We did things through out the week in school. On Haloween we went to our neighborhood trunk or treat. It is a huge bash that takes place on one of the streets in our neighborhood. There are always a couple of areas set up that have food. People do scones and chili and hot dogs. There is always donuts and hot chocolate. People that live on that street come out to there porches and others that don't either bring there cars over or just a chair to sit on next to someones house. It is a lot of fun! The last couple of years the young men have put together a "haunted house". It really is just a haunted porch, but it was fun. Jonah really wanted to go inside. He bragged the whole time in line that he was not scarred. When it was our turn to go inside he was a little reluctant, but went in. The first thing that we saw was a box that one of the YM jumped out of. Jonah grabbed on to me. Then we were walking down one side of the porch and he saw a YM that was crouching down. They could see that he was scarred so they didn't jump at him or anything, but he wanted to go back. I told him that he needed to move forward. At the end of the porch were some YM with candy I told him to go get some candy. He RAN so fast, grabbed some candy and booked it out the other side of the porch. By the time I could get out of the house he had gotten out and ran across the street. He claimed he wasn't scared though. Travis was behind us the whole time holding Simon. He told me that Simon just clung to him the whole time. He said he was scared, but then he asked to go through again. Travis asked if he was sure and he said, "Yea, I want to put my mask on and scare them!" He had gotten a little monkey mask from a lady in the ward. They waited in line again and this time Simon walked through all by himself and "scared those boys in there". It was pretty cute!
The night after Halloween we went to my moms for a family Halloween party. It was fun. The kids got to play games. They bobbed for apples, we made finger pens, they played the hooky spooky (like the holky polky) and went on a treasure hunt for there Halloween treat from G-ma and G-pa. Then we ate some really fun food that my mom made. There were mummy fingers, gobblin guts, pumpkin toes, and a whole lot more stuff that I cannot remember the names for. It was a Halloween to remember!

How fun! maybe I will try to get my ward to that next year instead of doing it in the church parking lot!

What cute critters you have!

I will mostly remember how nice and warm it was this year! I wish it were that nice every year!

Smart of Simon to grab the stem---could we please get a little more alliteration?
