Whole Wheat Sourdough Bread

So, as part of my quest to live a healthier life I decided that I was going to start making my own bread. After learning and researching I decided that I was going to make sourdough bread because it doesn't have yeast in it which can be very bad for your hormones and for kids with ADHD. I got a sourdough start and I made it, then last night I whipped up the dough and let it rise over night. I got up this morning and was so excited to form it and bake it. It really was not that much work. Quite easy infact. I pulled it out of the oven and I was so proud of it. It looks so pretty.

I let it cool and then we sliced it open to taste some. Yea, it tasted like dog food! I am so bummed! I didn't add any sweetner to it so maybe that is the problem. I think I will try it again this weekend and see. Now, what to do with the bread?

Taste isn't every thing right?
They do look pretty though.

Gee Chels, how do you know what dog food tastes like? Just kidding! I've personally never tasted dog food, but if it's anything like cat food...yuck! I'm sorry it didn't turn out the way you wanted. My sis-in-law makes really good sprouted wheat rolls, but I think they still have a little bit of yeast in them. I can get the recipe if you want. The bread is beautiful, though!

That bread is picture perfect!!!
Sorry it didn't turn out.. i would toast them and turn them into bread crumbs for other cooking adventures. or cube it, toss with a bit of olive oil, garlic, and rosemary and toast it into croutons in the oven. :)

It wasn't that bad. It tasted OK. I guess as family I get the "test" bread???? J/K I like your last couple of entries. Very funny stuff. Those cute nephews of mine, I think they get it from me. :)
